We at CFY Services believe every child should be given a chance to blossom, grow, and reach higher levels.

Having had the privilege to observe, consult and learn from Jake Greenspan and Tim Bleecker founders of The Floortime Center™ in Bethesda MD, we implemented The Greenspan Floortime Approach™ and Sensory Integration with Positive Time for K-I-D-S, a program that gives ALL K-I-D-S a chance to grow and reach higher levels.

Through workshops and programs such as ADD 2 Growth, Project M.O.M. and kidsmartfun we hope to continue to help with the growth of every child.

About Floortime™

Floortime™ is a special kind of play.

All children gain from the extra boost of Floortime, but children with challenges gain and need it most.

The goal is to help the child move upward on the 9 developmental milestones by following the child's lead and challenging the child, while using the child's unique sensory profile.

From the desk of the vice president

Starting out as a young volunteer in 2002, my hobby was playing with K-I-D-S. After 2 years of volunteer work I was helping an 8 year old girl whose mom was an occupational therapist.

After 2 months of “Positive Time” with this 8 year old girl, the mom asked me, “How do you know Floortime?”

At that time I did not know that challenging a child to think, using affect to engage him/her, enticing a child and saying statements to maintain attention, all while using the child's sensory profile, was called “Floortime”.

I began researching and reading books on Floortime and Sensory Integration.

I continued volunteering with families, charting progress, and started a volunteer program and mini support groups.

At that time a family I was volunteering for went to the Floortime Center™ in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Stanley I Greenspan, a child psychiatrist, was the developer of the DIR Model and The Greenspan Floortime Approach™. He also assisted in the planning and training of The Floortime Center™ in Bethesda MD (then known as DIR support services).

Dr. Stanley I Greenspan wrote many books amongst them -
The Learning Tree, The Challenging Child, Engaging Autism, and The Child with Special Needs.

I feel privileged and inspired that I was able to meet Dr. Greenspan, a man whose kindness overflowed and who shared wisdom with so many families across the globe.

I was privileged to thank him for helping so many children - giving all K-I-D-S a chance to grow and reach higher goals.

It is my honor and pleasure to learn, consult, gain, and grow, from Jake Greenspan and Tim Bleecker, co-founders of the Floortime Center™.

To date there are 100’s of families that CFY Services helps with Positive Time for K-I-D-S, and other projects including workshops, Project M.O.M., and informational resources.

We welcome everyone and invite you to join the CFY Services Community. Share our dreams, our challenges, and our growth.

We'd love to hear from you.

Welcome,
